Embark on an unforgettable two-day marine learning experience with Ocean Campus! Shore & Sea Discovery invites learners to explore the fascinating world of marine life through hands-on activities along our rocky shores and an exciting snorkelling experience through the kelp forests.

This fun 4-day course is based on the amazing diversity of life found along the two special oceans around South Africa. It also takes a closer look at two aquatic ecosystems, with a focus on human impacts. Students learn about the adaptations and characteristics of animals such as octopuses, turtles, and sharks to name a few. We also include an excursion to the rocky shore where students get to explore these weird and wonderful animals in their natural habitat. As a bonus, the students are given a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes area of our Turtle Conservation Centre.

Our volunteers are people who love the ocean and offer up some of their free time to help us spread the love of the ocean and its inhabitants. You don't need any prior experience or qualifications to become a volunteer, so this is the perfect opportunity for people who want a taste of what their future career in marine science may hold or those who simply want a hobby that keeps them in touch with the ocean.
