Marine masterminds: take the two oceans aquarium quizzes during the lockdown and you could win!

We're looking for Marine Masterminds! Read our blogs, take the quizzes and climb the Marine Masterminds leaderboard - if you're on top of the leaderboard when lockdown ends, you'll be a winner!

You could win a year of unlimited Two Oceans Aquarium access for your family, have the chance to meet the too-cute rockhopper penguins in person, adorable penguin-themed socks from Waddle On by Marts, or win tickets for Aquarium visits for two. Only South African citizens and residents are eligible for these prizes, but anyone is welcome to climb the leaderboard and show why they are the best of our Marine Masterminds.

1. Only people who live in South Africa are eligible to enter this competition. (But, anyone can play!)
2. All content sent to the Two Oceans Aquarium as entry into the competition may be used on the Aquarium’s website and associated digital platforms.
3. Entries close at 24h00 on the day the Two Oceans Aquarium reopens*.
4. Winners will be notified the following day.
5. You name, as shown on your quiz entry, will be displayed on the Marine Masterminds leaderboard, and your email address will be used to link quiz results to your identity for this competition. So make sure you always use the same email address so we can track your entries!
6. To enter the competition, you must complete at least one of the quizzes listed on this page. Each quiz may only be completed once and attempts to complete a quiz multiple times will result in that quiz's results being forfeited by the entrant.
7. Prizes are as follows:
   1. ​Overall winner: One family membership to the Two Oceans Aquarium, one pair of WaddleOn socks and a R2 000 voucher to be redeemed at  Naartjie or Earth Child. Constitutes two adult memberships and two child memberships. Will be activated once the Aquarium re-opens. 
   2. Second place: A Penguin Experience** for two at the  Two Oceans Aquarium, one pair of WaddleOn socks and a R2 000 voucher to be redeemed at Naartjie or Earth Child.. **Only suitable for people over the age of 8 years. 
   3. Third place: Two adult memberships to the Two Oceans Aquarium, one pair of WaddleOn socks and a R2 000 voucher to be redeemed at Naartjie or Earth Child. Will be activated once the Aquarium re-opens. 
   4. Runners up, fourth to tenth place: One double set of day tickets to the Two Oceans Aquarium. Will be valid for three months after the Aquarium re-opens. 
8. The eligible entrants with the top scores will be deemed the winners of the Two Oceans Aquarium's Marine Masterminds competition. 
9. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
10. Any score tie will be settled by a lucky draw or a "quiz off" at the discretion of the Two Oceans Aquarium.
11. Prizes are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.
12. Prizes must be redeemed within three months of the date of issue.
13. The winners may be required to participate in a photo-taking session during the issuing of the prize. Pictures may be used online.
14. Entry into the competition and acceptance of any prize shall constitute consent on the winner's part to allow the use of the winner's name, image, voice and/or likeness by the Two Oceans Aquarium for editorial, advertising, promotional, marketing and/or other purposes without further compensation except where prohibited by law.
15. This competition is not open to Two Oceans Aquarium staff or volunteers and their families. These parties are welcome to climb the leaderboard for fun, though!
