Fairy penguins, also known as southern little penguins, inhabit the western and southeastern coasts of the southern island of New Zealand. 

Snares crested penguins are very unusual, nesting in open coastal forests on small islets around New Zealand's South Island.

Galápagos penguins are the northernmost penguin species and are endemic to the equatorial Galápagos archipelago.

Pink meanies were first classified in 2010 when scientists realised that they belonged to an entirely new jelly family: Drymonema, a subgroup of true jellies. There are currently only three described species, with the South African species still in the process of being classified! For now, our South African pink meanie is known as Drymonema sp.

Golden sea cucumbers are small, soft-skinned sea cucumbers, each with up to 10 tentacles resembling small trees. 

Knobbly anemones are visually very variable. They can be white, maroon, pink, red, blue, purple or orange. 

Basket stars are brittle stars, close relatives of starfish you might be more familiar with. 

Cape fur seals are the only seal species native to mainland South Africa. Colonies can range from a few dozen individuals to many thousands, particularly at major breeding sites where seals congregate to rest, breed, moult, and raise their young.

Southern elephant seals are the largest seal species in the world. They spend most of their lives at sea, returning to land only to breed, give birth, and moult. 

The crabeater seal is one of Antarctica's most abundant marine mammals and, despite its name, does not eat crabs.
