The Two Oceans Aquarium Education Foundation is a registered non-profit organisation (NPO) and public benefit organisation (PBO) committed to nurturing and inspiring the next generation of marine scientists, educators and conservation champions, and to ensure the future well-being of our oceans. Through our education, conservation and awareness efforts, the Foundation aims to empower communities to become agents of change for protecting our oceans.
You can help the Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation achieve these goals:
Donate to conservation
We see the animals that live at the Two Oceans Aquarium as ambassadors for their species, and where possible, we try and release them back into the ocean. We are also involved in animal research, or providing support to other organisations that are working on research and conservation.
We rehabilitate and release endangered sea turtles, we rescue seals from life-threatening nooses, and we make contributions to research on sharks and sunfish.
This work would not be possible without your support. If you would like to assist in our efforts, please make a conservation donation via our online shop. We are grateful for all donations.
Sponsor a child's visit
Thousands of children live close to the sea, but many have never had the chance to go to the beach or play in the waves.
Many of these children may never experience the joy of seeing underwater through a mask, let alone go scuba diving or travelling to exotic destinations to see animals in the wild.
Nothing can replace the incredible impact and sheer delight of interacting with living animals.
You can make this happen by sponsoring a visit to the Aquarium for a child.
Sponsored children will be treated to a hands-on discovery activity presented by one of our highly trained and skilled education staff. They will then explore the Aquarium and encounter amazing animals like Knysna seahorses, giant spider crabs, ragged-tooth sharks, penguins and much, much more.
The Two Oceans Aquarium Education Foundation is a registered PBO and is able to issue Section 18A tax certificates for donations and grants received. If you would like to make such a donation, please find more information here.
