The who’s who of world tourism descended on Cape Town last week for the huge World Travel Market Africa travel and tourism trade show – the leading annual business-to-business global expo that looks at all things travel and tourism. Travel Massive Cape Town hosted a special pre-event mixer here at the Two Oceans Aquarium on 18 April 2017 and it was a night of magical underwater beauty, incredible people ... And cake, one amazing cake.

Not only was hosting Travel Massive again (they also used our space for WTMA2016) a massive amount of fun, but it was a great chance for us to show tourism professionals just what our event offerings are all about.
"Hosting delegates from visiting tourism exhibitions and trade shows at the Aquarium provides valuable opportunities to have them experience, first-hand, what their guests can expect when they have their future events at the Aquarium,” says Two Oceans Aquarium Events Coordinator Aneli Gerber. "We are very fortunate to enjoy a lot of positive word-of-mouth referrals, and that all comes down to our exceptional service, great food, attention to detail and strong, mutually beneficial relationships with strategic partners.”
“This year was extremely special for us because of the phenomenal partners that came on board to sponsor prizes, which resulted in a massive turnout of attendees. For example: the Diamond Works sponsored a Versace diamond ring worth R40 000 for the Travel Massive/WTMA2017 networking event,” Aneli continues.

Two Oceans Aquarium Sales Executive Jenni Leibbrandt focuses on our tourism product and said this event was a “valuable opportunity to showcase the underwater wonder of our two oceans to the guests.
“The Aquarium is an integral part to Cape Town's tourism offer for both the domestic and international markets. Events like these extend our reach to a considerable amount of people, and allows us to not only showcase our exhibits and South Africa's coastline, but also to educate guests about the value of protecting one of our most important assets - the sea."
For Jenni, working with travel and tourism professionals is exciting. “They are always looking for the new adventures and always willing to share the experience. Every day has something new to offer.”
