Sustainable Seas Trust presents Sylvia Earle in Cape Town!

The Two Oceans Aquarium is excited to welcome world-famous oceanographer, diver, author and award-winning conservationist Dr Sylvia Earle to Cape Town!

She will be speaking at the launch of the SAMSA Sea Pledge Tour from Saldanha to Sodwana, on Monday 15 April, at the V&A Waterfront. See the invitation below for more details:

As guest speaker, Dr Earle will be presenting a talk on “sustainable seas, the vision, the reality”. Called “Her Deepness” by The New Yorker and fondly referred to as “Hero for the Planet” by Time magazine, Dr Earle has been at the global forefront of deep-sea exploration for the past four decades. She is National Geographic‘s Explorer-in-Residence (possibly the best job title anyone could have), founder of numerous research foundations and chairperson of the Advisory Council for the Ocean in Google Earth, as well as the patron of the Sustainable Seas Trust (SST).

The SAMSA Sea Pledge Tour is a project that strives towards education and outreach for the benefit of our oceans. Make your Sea Pledge, and help support coastal conservation and all those who rely on this vanishing life source. Watch the video below for more about the tour:

Hanli Prinsloo, 11 times South African free-diving record-holder (and underwater performer), will be also be speaking about the importance of water conservation at the launch. As one of the founder members of the I Am Water Ocean Conservation Trust, Hanli is also a long-time supporter of SST.
