Pic of the day: Spiny starfish

Spiny starfish can be found on the rocky shores of the Western Cape, and are either orange or blue-grey in colour.

They grow to about 75cm across and their spines are surrounded by a circle of tiny white nippers, which are used to protect and clean the starfish.
