October school holidays crafts for kids: Penguin power!

Two Oceans Aquarium

From 1 to 9 October, the Two Oceans Aquarium’s AfriSam Children’s Centre is offering specially themed craft activities for little ones. Since it’s African Penguin Awareness Day on 8 October 2011, we’re celebrating all things penguin at our arts and crafts tables in October.

Your kids will be endlessly entertained as they take part in creative activities. Penguin cookies and notebooks, key chains, flags, animal tubes and fans will all be brought home after a day at the AfriSam Children’s Centre.

Recycled craft materials for each activity are provided, as well as friendly guided instruction by specially trained staff. The centre also runs a small tuckshop, where visitors are invited to enjoy light refreshments.

Meet our rockhopper penguins

If your child is over 8 years old and loves the ocean’s feathered friends, then they’ll love our interactive Penguin Encounter. No more than two people will join our bird trainer, Hayley McLellan, for an informative, fun and exhilarating face-to-face encounter with our penguin friends. The Penguin Encounter takes place every Saturday at 11h00.
