On Monday 25 June 2018 the Two Oceans Aquarium’s I&J Ocean Exhibit was filled to capacity with South African music fans who decided to trade the Monday blues for marine-themed rock and roll. After months of preparation, the After Dark music concert series kicked off with broody Southern Wild and boisterous Grassy Spark, two sensational opening acts for what’s bound to be an ocean of awesome this winter.

Thanks to the impeccable taste and logistical wherewithal of Texx and the City’s Tecla Ciolfi, the delicious beverages from Drifter Brewing Company, the slick MC skills of Majozi, as well as the Aquarium Functions team’s every-ready attitude, we were able to treat Capetonians to something truly special. And that is more than we could have asked for. A huge thanks to everyone who pulled through on Monday!

There are two more shows in the After Dark series, happening in July (AKING and Bam Bam Brown) and August (Majozi and Gemma Griffiths).
