Our second course for Grade 7s is coming up in May and we would like to invite enthusiastic and environmentally minded youngsters to apply.

The Smart Living Course, sponsored by the City of Cape Town, aims to educate Grade 7s about four main themes: biodiversity, waste, energy and water. All of these topics will be tackled in a hands-on, interactive way, with visits to Green Point Park, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden and the Coastal Park landfill site.

Our Smart Living Course complements our other courses, even though it is not heavy in marine content. Since it promotes an understanding of environmental issues and healthy environmental practices, we would like to see as many aspiring marine biologists to attend this course as possible.

The course will run over four consecutive weekends, with the last weekend involving a camp at Froggy Pond in Simon’s Town.
