Last night, in the most beautiful city in the world, the Wheel of Excellence was opened at the V&A Waterfront to glorious weather, a whole host of very excited people and more than one South African celebrity.

The Aquarium’s Tourism Co-ordinator Renée Leeuwner and Alichia Nortje, assistant to Brand & Business Manager, Jillian Grindley-Ferris, joined the prestigious launch and hobnobbed with rugby player Bob Skinstad, 94.5 Kfm’s Ryan O’Conner, MEC Alan Winde and South Africa’s king of funny, Leon Schuster, to name but a few.

Schuster’s latest candid-camera movie, Schuks Tshabalala’s Survival Guide to South Africa 2010, is playing at cinemas now, and Leeuwner and Nortje were lucky enough to get a photo opportunity with the man. All parties were equally delighted.

The wheel was opened in grand style. All attendees were treated to a ride to admire the view and to experience the incredible technology that has gone into the making of the wheel.

And what an experience it was! The Cape Town Stadium has never looked as beautiful.

The rain stayed away until all the fun rides were over and then blessed the proceedings with a lovely shower.

The Wheel of Excellence is be open to the public as of yesterday, for the next six months or so. Tickets cost R80 per adult.
