An Aquarium GoPro adventure

From feeding fish in the Ocean Basket Kelp Forest Exhibit to tickling a turtle, over three years Simon Leigh has done it all – first as a volunteer and then as a full-time employee at the Aquarium.

Earlier this year Simon, a former De Beers Marine Young Biologist, was asked to deliver a speech at the Young Biologist course graduation ceremony. Instead of writing a speech, he decided to put together a GoPro video documenting his years at the Aquarium. He spent three weeks editing the footage into a four-and-a-half minute video.

“I decided to put a video together as part of my presentation to try to express the amount of fun and happiness that my job brings me – whether it be working at one of the top aquariums in the world, in one of the most amazing cities in the world, or the amazing staff and volunteers that make the Two Oceans Aquarium the success that it is,” he says.
