Things are temporary, but experiences last a lifetime. If you want to give your loved ones something that won’t end up the bin come January, we have some bright ideas:

1. A whole year of fish

An Aquarium gift membership offers the best experiences at the Two Oceans - give those you care about the opportunity to unwrap a world of wonder, again and again and again. Gift memberships include many amazing benefits:

  • Unlimited access - visit the fish as often as you wish
  • Skip the queue, get preferred entry
  • Exclusive event invitations - family sleepovers, behind-the-scenes tours and more
  • Wonderful discounts (at the gift shop, on adventure diving, on Penguin Experiences, and at the new Bootlegger Coffee Company restaurant)

2. Penguin shenanigans

Come and meet our too-cute rockhopper penguins, EL, Hopper and Harold Custard with our educational and interactive Penguin Experience! Up to three people can join our penguin keepers for a fun,  informative, fun and exhilarating face-to-face encounter with our feathered friends. It’s bound to make for some very happy feet. What's more, R100 of every Penguin Experience booked goes towards our conservation work.

Find more information here, or make your booking at experience@aquarium.co.za or call us on +27 (0)21 418 3823.

3. Adventure diving

Know someone who loves getting their feet (or whole body) wet? Open Water divers can see the world from fish-eye view in the I&J Ocean Exhibit or tick "dived with sharks" off their bucket list and hop into the Predator Exhibit. Advanced Open Water divers can go a step further and dive in the Kelp Forest Exhibit - the Southern Hemisphere's only above-ground display of its type.

Or maybe someone you love has always wanted to learn how to dive. We can organise that too – Iain’s Scuba School at the Aquarium is your one-stop scuba shop, whether you want to earn your Open Water qualification or simply do a morning short course and have your first underwater experience.

4. Extend the Aquarium experience with Puppet Stories books

Kids can experience the Aquarium's valuable environmental lessons at home. Our six Puppet Stories books for little ones - I Love Turtles, I Live Smart, Keep the Beach Clean, My Wild Pets, Water Cycle Adventure and Wetlands, Not Wastelands - accompany the puppet shows presented at the Children’s Play Centre. They've proved to be exceptionally popular with children between the ages of 3 and 9, and have fun and interactive lessons your little ones won't soon forget.

The Puppet Stories books are available in English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa from a number of vendors. For the best value, get all six books bundled for just R285 from the Aquarium.
