Appearance and lifestyle:
Wonderworm (Polychaetes) are segmented worms that are some of the most common and diverse creatures found along our shores. They vary in size, and some species can grow up to 1meter in length. Many of the species are burrowing worms. We’ve created a special artificial burrow for this worm so that it is easier for us to keep an eye on him and for you to see what he’s up to.
Habitat:
Diverse creatures found along our shores, almost 800 species occur in southern Africa.
Diet:
They are scavengers that feed on tiny invertebrates, algae and decomposing organic matter.
Threats:
Pollution, climate change, habitat loss etc.
