Visitor Services Assistant

The Two Oceans Aquarium is looking to employ an organised, customer-focused Visitor Services Assistant with a passion for service excellence to join our Visitor Services team.

This role is ideal for a well-presented, multi-skilled individual who enjoys engaging with people, working in a fast-paced public environment, and contributing to memorable visitor experiences.

The successful candidate will assist with ticket sales, annual memberships, visitor enquiries, and general front-of-house operations.

Minimum requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a customer-facing role within hospitality, tourism, retail or a similar environment, including cash handling
  • National Senior Certificate (essential)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Fully flexible availability, including weekdays, weekends, public holidays and peak periods

Key responsibilities

  • Welcome and engage visitors in a friendly, professional and enthusiastic manner
  • Provide accurate information about the Aquarium’s products, services and experiences
  • Perform ticket sales and process payments accurately
  • Process annual memberships, event bookings and other Aquarium activities
  • Manage entry and exit duties at turnstiles
  • Monitor the cleanliness, appearance and functionality of the foyer and report maintenance issues
  • Coordinate information desk and switchboard operations
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform basic administrative duties, including record-keeping and selected report writing
  • Adhere to all Aquarium policies, procedures and service standards
  • Work effectively as part of a team while also showing initiative and proactivity

Start date: 1 June 2026 

Salary: To be discussed at interview
