Are you ready to turn passion into impact? The Two Oceans Aquarium is looking for
a driven and dynamic Environmental Campaign Co-ordinator to join our team and
help lead urgent campaigns tackling plastic pollution, overfishing and others.
Are you a strategic communicator and change-maker who designs and drives
initiatives that connect people to ocean issues? Can you use science, conservation
and communication to tell compelling stories that inspire behaviour change,
partnerships, and measurable impact? Can you work with multiple teams to align
messaging, audiences, and actions to advance the Aquarium’s mission?
About the Role
You will play a key role in designing and delivering campaigns that influence policy,
mobilise communities, and drive real environmental change. Working across multiple
platforms and with diverse stakeholders, you’ll bring energy, creativity, and strategic
thinking to some of the most pressing marine conservation challenges of our time.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, plan and implement impactful campaigns focused on plastic
pollution and overfishing, among others
• Conduct research and translate complex environmental issues into
compelling campaign messages
• Work collaboratively with the wider communications and design team to
develop and deliver a variety of communication approaches and materials,
including direct engagement, traditional and digital media, briefing
materials, public information, and campaign activities. These should
effectively engage identified audiences and support the achievement of
campaign objectives.
• Develop clear, accurate and informative briefings and updates for staff,
media, stakeholders and other relevant audiences, communicating key
campaign issues, developments, progress and outcomes.
• Engage stakeholders, partners, staff and the public to build momentum and
support
• Develop, plan and implement campaign activities, timelines, and resources
effectively
• Monitor and evaluate campaign performance and adapt strategies as
needed
About You
• Experience in campaigning, advocacy, or public engagement
• Strong communication, storytelling and public speaking abilities
• Background and qualification in marine science, or communications, or
social sciences, or environmental studies, or a related field
• Passionate about environmental protection, particularly marine ecosystems
• Strategic thinker with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Dynamic and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
