Vacancy: Accounts Clerk

The Two Oceans Aquarium Trust’s Finance Department is looking for an individual with a strong 
sense of ethics, a passion for continuous learning, and a natural passion for the field of 
accounting practices. The candidate must have current knowledge of accounting principles 
and practices as well as the ability to emphasise accuracy in all tasks. 


The primary focus of the role would be to manage and process all local suppliers’ accounts and 
to support the operation of the Finance Department.

Responsibilities include: 


• Processing approved invoices on Dext and Xero 
• Reconcile creditor age analysis (Processing of reconciliations against supplier’s
statements) 
• Load supplier and cash payments 
• Process Journals at Financial year end and month end 
• Liaise and maintain relationships with suppliers (creditors) as well as manage and resolve 
supplier queries timeously 
• Prepare and assist with bi-monthly and yearly audits as well as BBBEE audits 
• Assist with developing procedures and take on projects as needed 
• Familiarize yourself with suppliers’ rates and cost to identity discrepancies 
• Keeping financial records accurately and up to date 
• Filling and any ad hoc tasks 


Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Accounting as a subject is required) 
• Diploma or degree will be to your advantage but not required 
• Experience working on digital accounting systems.
• 3 years Creditors’ Clerk experience required.
• Accurate and detail oriented 
• Willing to take responsibility and learn new skills 
• Ability to work independently and in a team and adhere to deadlines 
• Excellent customer service 
• Basic knowledge of excel
