Your venue with a difference
As sustainability and event greening gains popularity and importance, make a conscious choice and host your company conference, meeting, corporate dinner, cocktail function or presentation at the Two Oceans Aquarium.
The Aquarium is committed to reducing its environmental impact and, in recognition of its efforts, was awarded Platinum status by the Heritage Environmental Management Company in 2011.
The Aquarium’s onsite restaurant and caterer, Shoreline Café, is the first restaurant in Africa to be awarded Chain-of-Custody certification from the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).
The Aquarium was chosen by Project 90x2030 as one of six renewable energy demonstrations sites in South Africa and currently generates a small percentage of its energy requirements from wind and solar energy.
In light of its international reputation, the Two Oceans Aquarium won the bid to the host the prestigious 2012 International Aquarium Congress (IAC) in September 2012. Held only every four years, the IAC is a gathering of the key decision makers from top aquariums around the world. This is the first time the IAC will be held on the African continent.
