The Oceans of Contrast - Atlantic Ocean Gallery offers glimpses of life from the cold Atlantic as well as creatures from other waters. Discover translucent jellies; the shy, master of camouflage, the octopus; endangered Knysna seahorses and some overseas visitors, the alien-like giant spider crabs.

Sappi River Meander
Trace the journey of a river from its mouth to its origin as a stream high up in the mountains. Visit our colony of penguins and see them dart to and fro beneath the waves. A bird hide, overlooking the rockhopper rookery, offers people a place to sit and relax in this peaceful riverine environment. As of October 2008, several species of frogs can also be seen in this exhibit. These exhibits form part of the Frogs-Beyond the Pond gallery.

I&J Predator Exhibit
Containing 2 million litres of seawater, the I&J Predator Exhibit is a dramatic window on the ocean. Large ragged-tooth sharks patrol the exhibit whilst an assortment of graceful rays, shoals of silver predatory fishes and a loggerhead turtle swim effortlessly against the current.
