Items of litter that are looped are essentially nooses, and nooses kill. 

Animals end up with the nooses around their necks, beaks, feet or flippers and are either slowly strangled or starved to death.

Cutting loops, like milk bottle seals, before you throw them in the trash can save an animal’s life.
