Switch off your lights (and even any electrical appliances) for one hour and join millions of people throughout the world in calling for action to save our planet for future generations.

Aquarium returns sharks to the oceans

The Two Oceans Aquarium is set to release another two ragged-tooth sharks on 4 March 2009 as part of an ongoing shark research programme in conjunction with leading ragged-tooth shark scientist, Dr Malcolm Smale of Bayworld in Port Elizabeth.

These sharks will join other Aquarium ragged-tooths - Maxine, Val, Dee and Elle - which were tagged and released previously as part of the SaveOur Seas Foundation Maxine, Science, Education and Awareness(M-Sea) Programme which is an AfriOceans Conservation Alliance initiative.

Sam and Roy return to the sea

We released two more of our ragged tooth sharks earlier this month. Sam and Roy, both of which had been on display in the I&J Predator Exhibit since 2007, were released near Struisbaai on 3 and 4 March 2009 respectively.

The fight for whales gains momentum
